PLEASE NOTE THIS JANA HONNEROVA WORKSHOP REQUIRES SOME PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE - SPECIFICALLY, YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO CONDITION AND LEACH CLAY, AND BE ABLE TO MAKE A SKINNER BLEND IN ADVANCE OF THE WORKSHOP.

ABOUT THE DAY

Each day runs from 10am-4pm and our current venue is Greenside Community Centre, 24 Lilestone Street, Marylebone, London, NW8 8SR.

This is an unusual day as we have booked a special birthday treat - a workshop with Jana Honnerova.

YOU MUST BRING:

All the usual polymer clay kit - pasta machine, roller, blades, worksurface.

Scalpel / rigid knife

Scissors, ruler.

Wavy blades (rick-rack blades)

Round cutters in various sizes

Office papers

LPCG is providing the forms for curing.

BEFORE THE CLASS:

1. Please prepare a SKINNER BLEND in PREMO - metallic and pearl colours preferred. Approx 2 blocks in total.

Use colours you like, plus white, alternate colurs to obtain many transitions, thick setting on your PM.

2. WHITE SHEET: Prepare a small sheet of white on your thinnest setting, and roll it together with paper through the pasta machine again at thinnest setting. The clay will stick in between the papers. Let it rest for AT LEAST 2 DAYS. Do not try to straighten the paper or remove it.

3: Condition SCRAP CLAY. Add a little black to your scrap to make a nice grey. We will use scrap if you have it ready and conditioned (approx 2 blocks). If not, take additional clay.

PHOTOS

You may take still photos (unobtrusively!!!) during the demos, but in fairness to our demonstrators, please do not video any of the demos. Please don't post your photos onto Facebook or other social media after the event.

SHOW & TELL TABLE

In addition we have a “Show-and-Tell” table at each Day. Members can use this to display and talk about a recent creation, or to ask for help in solving a problem. If you don't bring anything to show, you're quite likely to have your (polymer!) jewellery removed at the door by Carol!

Please be aware that pieces on the Show and Tell table WILL be photographed and posted on our website and facebook site.

Lastly, the table is called 'Show and Tell' for a reason - please be willing to answer questions abour your process and techniques - that's how everyone learns!
