Clay Day 30th September

We had a wonderful day last Sunday with really good attendance - seeing some old friends and meeting new ones too which was a real treat.

In her demonstration Jane Cox showed us how to make ring bowls of different shapes, textures and finishes and also showed how to cover small glasses to make very pretty tea lights. The ovens were busy all afternoon and the results were varied and delightful. Thank you so much, Jane.

The show and tell table was full of treasures and we spent some time discussing how many of the pieces on display had been made. Hopefully in November there will be a selection of ring bowls and tea lights on display inspired by Jane's demo.

We held a very 'short and sweet' AGM, during which Theresa said that we are likely to have to recommend a small price rise at some point in the near future. This was accepted by those present as being essential for the continued success of the group. It was also agreed that in future all payments for claydays will be made through the website using PayPal. AGM minutes will follow asap.

We were all delighted that Kirsti Matthews has offered to become LPCG secretary. Welcome Kirsti - it is great to have you on board.

The steering group will be meeting very soon to make plans for the future. We already have exciting and different claydays planned for November and January so watch this space and keep the last Sunday of the month free or you will be very sad to have missed out!

Please get in touch if you have a burning desire for a clayday demo - or would like to offer one. We also want to know of any innovative ideas you have for events in the future.
