Annual Report 2016 - 17 AGM 28th May 2017

It is a pleasure to report that the London Polymer Clay Group, now celebrating its 10th anniversary, continues to flourish. We have well attended bi-monthly meetings and have been delighted to welcome new and enthusiastic members joining us during the year.

Our members and visitors come not only from the UK, but from Europe and even the USA. Our philosophy is to encourage, teach, inspire and share the development of members’ skills and interests within the polymer clay world. We aim to create a warm and supportive atmosphere where members can discuss their work and develop their talents.

At each meeting there have been excellent wide-ranging demonstrations, both creative and practical, some presented by our members, some by visitors.

The Show and Tell table continues to be popular as it is a great chance to ask questions, get advice and display our latest polymer creations – and sometimes disasters.

Services to members are provided, including the excellent library, a range of tools, buffing machine, cane slicer, photo booth, use of ovens etc…. And of course there is cake, coffee and biscuits!

Hopefully members have enjoyed looking at our updated website are able to log into our Facebook pages for information and contributions from members.

As you are aware this year is our 10th anniversary and we have two amazing additional events planned.

Carol Blackburn’s Perfume Purses on July 15th and 16th at the Selsdon Centre – details on our website.

Melanie West workshop at Greenside – more details to follow.

Your steering group meets bi-monthly in order to plan meetings and to consider fresh projects. One idea is a Residential Workshop event next year – what do you think?

We would love to hear from you, our members. If you have any suggestions for demonstrations or events please complete the suggestion form attached and place it in our jolly red post box at the next meeting or just tell one of us.
