It was another successful London clay day at Greenside, in Marylebone, on Sunday. Although a cold day we were warmer than toast as the underfloor heating thermostat had broken!
Although our group is based in London, members are not limited to the London area and Bella travelled from Scotland and Jan flew from the south of France to join us.
Welcome to four new people who came and attended Jude’s excellent nursery class. After an hour or so they were reluctant to stop and have a lunch break before the afternoon demo started.
Being the last clay day before Christmas, our two demos had a festive theme. Jude demo’d her hollow Christmas decorations and Chris showed us her simple but effective tree ornament. There were lots of suggestions how both these ideas could be expanded to create other tree designs and more hollow decorations. The three ovens were on the go all afternoon baking work following the two demos.
As usual the show and tell table was laden with polymer work and shows the wide variety of work our members make. It’s a great time to hear how each person has made their piece and an opportunity to ask questions and to get advice on our own work.
Don’t forget to use our London Polymer Clay Group Facebook page where you can ask polymer related questions and find information on equipment and things happening like up-coming workshops.
Also, do have a look at our new website www.lpcg.co.uk, created by our steering group member Ruth and become a subscriber as unfortunately we’ve lost some names in the changeover from old to new website and we would hate you to miss out on news.
The next clay day is on 29th January so mark your diary and we hope to see you in 2017.
Till then, the LPCG Steering Group and I would like to wish all our members, wherever you are, a very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year. We hope Santa Claus has read your letters and brings you the tools and gadgets on your craft wish-list!
