About this event

For our next clay day, Ann will be sharing how to make ‘mesh tile bracelets’.

Firstly, you will be shown how to calculate the number of tiles and size of tiles required, to get a bracelet to fit.

Adjustments to the finished length of the bracelet can be achieved by using different size knitting needles as spacers.

She’ll follow with how to attach the tiles to the mesh, and finally how to ‘close’ the bracelets.

Tile design is up to you. You could make a cane or mokume gane veneer, or simply texture a strip of clay. This clay day will be perfect for beginners and there is also plenty for the experts!

Bring usual kit plus also narrow knitting needles (2-5mm)/cocktail sticks for spacing and rectangle cutters, if you have them.  Pictured bracelets were made using 20mm wide cutters and 4mm knitting needles. 18mm cutters will also work.  Mesh strips and graph paper will be supplied.  A few cutters and knitting needles will be available to share on the day.

There will also be the opportunity to purchase cutters and mesh on the day if you so want.
